Vivid Nights: A Permanent Residency On The Move

Vivid Nights: A Permanent Residency On The Move

As The Vivid Life Tour kicks off for 150 Days Running, one of the highlights I'm most proud of is the opportunity to bring a follow up show for ViViD Nights to Tampa once again.

The overwhelming reception of the first ViViD Nights that took place on June 28th was almost unanimously positive and exciting. Folks who had the opportunity to attend spoke about how simple the event was, how talent-filled it was, and how refreshing it was for an event to have an atmosphere and a space that complimented the vision and overall description that was given.

The June 28th ViViD Nights  was set as a premiere for "The Perfectionist" music video and, in front of a crowd of about 35, brought Frankie Brown, Detyme Poet and myself to the stage for performances.

One part music premiere. One part social and networking. One part performances. It was a nice Wednesday night to step out enjoy a new spot, enjoy some music, and kick it with friends and meet some new people.

Now, it's time to optimize.

ViViD Nights: Art x Music x Vibe

I can give some run down pieces and thoughts on what is the focus on improving to make ViViD Nights not just another event, but something that can organically grow with the audience that loves it.

  • Keep The Vibes Intimate: Maybe it's because I'm getting a little older and, at least here in Tampa, I've seen it all and done almost all of it at least once. But there's something really dope to me about small, intimate events. Something exclusive - maybe even invite only. I work to prioritize my Paid Members and Subscribes at all costs since this is the group that has been sticking by and growing with me since this site kicked off in 2022. For me, an event with a vibe has to be one that everyone can respect (and yeah, that means punctuality is part of the program) and atmosphere. When I think of atmosphere and music, I look no further than Tiny Desk.
  • A Reliable Site With All Of the Libations & Vices: Can we make it vivid? Location is everything. For a mid-week outing, there's simply no way that wine should not be part of the experience. Wine, hookah, beer, and the other servings of a good time. Something light that won't down the young professionals, but definitely something to carry you through a good time.
  • Appearance, Looks, Dresscodes, & People: I like to think that I've been doing a pretty good job over the last 6 years of consistently bringing the most beautiful and enriching crowds out to events. I really think of ViViD Nights and that first flyer: black and white, every performer illustrated was in dress clothes, and it gave the feeling of minimalist, but eclectic. While there's no need to become hard-locked on "dress code strictly enforced", I think there's a way to establish that this event is one to step aht to without having to explicitly state that to adults. Right?
  • Top-Tier Performers. Top Tier Artists: From the sounds to stage presence, overall style, and sound, it's my goal to bring artists and entertainers who can deliver a consistency in theme, motif, and style to an event of this caliber. I'm a firm believer that variety and adherence can exist in the same show if we're tapping into the right artists and collaborating to bring about the best outcome for attendees.
  • Fun: Like, real, 30+ fun. I never imagined a chair would be such an item of contention, or that sitting down would cost you $700 at events these days. Simplicity has a seat at the Fun Table, and I can imagine stepping away from simplicity.

As the Fall prepares to roll around in the coming weeks, more information about the next ViViD Nights will begin to be made publicly. In fact, I can already hint that we have a good list of performers and artists already lined up. With next steps being confirmation of dates, location, and details, I want to be sure to have I AM ALEX AUGUSTE subscribers and members along for the entire ride.

There's a few ways you can do that.

The first is to subscribe to I AM ALEX AUGUSTE - here you can have the option to upgrade your subscription to a paid membership and receive premium content that's exclusive to these tiers. This gets you in the know of events, but also provides discounts and deals on Vivid Life Apparel merchandise. For the upcoming events, paid members will have priority ticket opportunities, so do not miss out.

Next is to follow MRVL WRLD on Eventbrite. This will keep you close to information about dates, ticket sales, and event-specific information right within Eventbrite itself.

Lastly is to pop in and check the Videos tab. There will be videos about behind the scenes, vlogs, and more about building up to the next ViViD Nights and other MRVL WRLD events that will be posted here (Often times, this video content will be unlisted on YouTube, so it's good to subscribe to YouTube and keep an eye on the site).

And while plans are in place to grow this event right here in the Tampa Bay Area, it is not off the table for this to be a residency of sorts, but also one that travels and goes abroad to nearby cities. It's very early on to speak on it, but with The Vivid Life Tour already in place, I'm not ruling out that this new vibe we're creating can become one that we take with us on the road and exhibit to new cities where others like us are excited to feel and experience what we're creating.

Anything is possible.
