Love Jones Thursdays

May 2017 - Nov 2018; January 2021 - April 2022
Organizer: Full Moon Branding
Role: Host/Entertainment Lead

Focusing on bringing together unique elements for guests attending an upscale night life experience that centered 90s R&B, my role as Host/Entertainment Lead blended increasing attendee engagement both online as well as in-person. From interaction, creating content, and following up with online engagement and marketing, my role shaped the Love Jones Thursdays experience, elevating it to becoming one of the premiere events to attend in Tampa from 2017 to 2022.

The general success of Love Jones Thursdays in its initial launch can be attributed to a promotional and marketing directive that was personable, attaching a personality and host to calls to action, and mirroring marketing materials with the real life touch and feel of the events. From unique event spaces to experimental themes and curated playlists, Love Jones Thursdays thrived in its infancy on the concept that the experience transcended a normal Tampa party, bringing together the upper echelon, tastemakers, and those with a fine taste for socializing, mature social experiences, and an appetite for looking their best and being among beautiful people.

As the Entertainment Lead and Host of Love Jones Thursdays, I maintained the persona that being present in the space granted you privilege to being among the best and brightest in the city.

Sunset & Sounds

Nov. 2021 - April 2022
Organizer: Full Moon Branding
Producer; Host

As Producer of Full Moon Branding's "Sunset and Sounds" Live Music Event, the tasks were delegated among the team to coordinate effective communication with artists, live bands, hospitality teams, and ensure marketing collateral and creative focused on key elements of the event. As a limited event series, Sunset and Sounds aimed to create a unique, intimate ambience among attendees, bringing them up close and personal with artists from around the state and to engage with their music in an unforgettable manner.

Creative Tech Expo - Atlanta

December 2021
Organizer: Efforts for the Culturer/Creative Tech Expo
Role: Social Media Special/Content Manager

The Creative Tech Expo is a family-friendly technology immersion experience. Held in Jonesboro, Georgia at the all-new and now widely popular ,Nouveau Bar & Grill, the expo featured a number of exhibits, activations, and community workshops for attendees to participate in. The event brought out dozens of businesses ready to expose attendees to new software, hardware, and emerging tech that is shaping our industries.

Managing real-time marketing for the event meant keeping the social media feeds and stories busy with fresh, new content as the event went on. With live updates on stories, interviews, and live demos posted to the events' social media profiles, effective execution on this level translated to a lifted burden for the event organizers and opened up for more focused execution on the event side.

Coilture Freedom Festival

December 2023
Organizer(s):
My Royal Coils, Natural Trendsetters, Black Archives Historic Lyric Theatre Arts Complex
Role: Social Media Content Manager/ Event Host

The Coilture Freedom Festival 2023 presented a live marketplace for attendees of Miami's Art Week festivities to take in an experience of joy, community, collaboration and festivity. The event features over 21 vendors, live performances, a featured performance by Yung Wylin, and panel discussions on health, wellness, and mental health. Hosted by Ingrid B, Comedian Rayzor, and Alex Auguste, the event was organized by My Royal Coils Natural Hair Products.

The key to success for annual and/or recurring events is understanding how to repurpose content to continually build on the success and strategic goals of those events, even when branding, name, or association changes. The Coilture Freedom Festival, previously known as the My Royal Coils Expo, required a completely redeveloped brand identity, calls to action, and strategic goals that had to align with the hosting organization and the hosting venue. Understanding this, editing video content to communicate this consistently across creative was the primary mark of success for 2023 and continuing events.

Carpe Diem 360

From Pensacola to the Keys, 360 cameras are becoming a hit in competitive events markets. In 2022, Carpe Diem 360 set out to only break into those markets, but also create an experience that is unique, fun, professional, and delivers at a quality unsee in the Tampa Bay market specifically. Black- and Woman-owned, Carpe Diem's Sheridan Wiggins talks about how important new experiences and technology like this can be for events curated and organized by and for Black and Brown communities.

Fueled by this passion, Carpe Diem partnered with MRVL WRLD to create a unique experience: renting out the empty Rialto Theatre, known for its weddings, large parties, and events, and bringing two groups of friends who recently celebrated birthdays to give them an exclusive 360 experience. The goal: to show how much fun they are on their own, let alone within a bustling event environment.

Natural Trendsetters Activation at Natural Experience Expo 2023

Simone Hylton is a Master Pioneer and Stylist, most notably known for introducing natural hair care and products to the Fort Lauderdale area nearly 30 years ago with her Natural Trendsetter salon and her My Royal Coils product line. At the 2023 Natural Experience Expo in St. Petersburg, Florida, we see follow her backstage as she prepares her models for hair art and a spotlighted moment. From curls, pins, fros, and bundles, we get to see first hand how there is no limit and no end to the range of how Black hair can truly be one part crown and another part art.

Simone Hylton and My Royal Coils partnered with MRVL WRLD and Alex Auguste for Event Coverage, covering both on-the-ground video content, storytelling, and behind the scenes content to provide a comprehensive look and feel of the models, the booth, and engagement with visitors in real time.

Vintage Thrivals Presents: The Prelude

Baltimore-based Vintage Thrivals is a sustainable clothing brand that unlocks the true creative potential and style for the next generation. Creating simple recap trailers using B-roll and working with models during down time before the show are a good way to create teasers for full recaps and what's to come. With the creative patchwork of lighting, props, and materials within the Selfie Space Baltimore and the grunge of weathered and renewed threads, "The Prelude" recap teaser for Vintage Thrivals makes use of the beauty of space, the diversity of textiles, and the range of who we are when we walk out as models.

  • Comprehensive skill integration
  • Unique artistic vision
  • Fun and engaging content

The Perfectionist (Music Video)

The Perfectionist stands as a crowning achievement in my portfolio as both an Art Director and Creative Director. This project, born from a vision and nurtured through months of dedicated work, allowed me to showcase my skills in storyboarding, creative design, wardrobe curation, and project management. From February 2023, when the project took its first breath, to its triumphant release in June 2023, "The Perfectionist" has been a labor of passion, precision, and artistry.

For The Perfectionist, the focus was bringing art, design, and strategy to life. Bringing our vision to life required communication, delegation, and streamlining access to a variety of applications and documentation to effectively convey what the video meant.

The Insomniac (Music Video)

There's no story here. I simply could not sleep.

Featured for OkayAfrica's preliminary campaign ahead of the release of Marvel Studios' Black Panther, Alex Auguste's Op-Ed takes storylines from Marvel's comic lore and holds it up to the true history of The Republic of Haiti. Breaking down facts from his motherland's early history following their revolution and overthrowing the French in 1804, we're brought into a world of political differences that center autonomy in a Black space, isolation, and highlights the leaders that represented both sides.
