MRVL WRLD: Quarterly Newsletter (May 2023)
Your Digest Of All Things MRVL WRLD and I AM ALEX AUGUSTE to be kept in the know.
You read it here first. May is the beginning of Summer.
I don't care about the Earth's axis, or storm seasons, wet season, I just know the 5" seams are ending their hibernation in my closet, it smells like PTO outside, and I make all the rules in this WLRD.
Welcome to the May 2023 Quarterly Newsletter for MRVL WRLD.
Last quarter was actually an unprecedented timeline. In January, I launched I AM ALEX AUGUSTE YouTube Channel, which has grown very quickly. Our viewership has grown more than 1,000% just in the first quarter, and watch time has now reached 19hrs across just 26 videos. Which is helping us better understand how and what types of content work best on the YouTube platform.
Our best piece of content? A short, which isn't surprising to anyone who is familiar with how shorts work.
March 2023 remains just a smash of content developed - 1100 raw pieces of footage weighing something like 180GB or so. This includes footage for MyRoyalCoils from the Natural Experience Expo in St. Petersburg, Vintage Thrivals' The Prelude Fashion Experience in Baltimore, and a number of vlogs that have made their way to both Instagram and YouTube (and still more to come).
The biggest news to come, and what so many people are probably curious about, though, is The Perfectionist.
Here's What's To Come
Alex Auguste Presents...The Perfectionist
The Perfectionist is cooking up to be one of my most exciting releases in a long time. The idea of shooting a music video had surfaced on many occasions over the last few years, but came to life actually last year actually shortly after connecting and networking with creatives after AfroPunk Miami.
While the video is getting set to wrap up editing and post-production, I'm excited to let you know that the entire process has been documented, and I plan to roll out the background info and behind the scenes of how this entire project came to life.
If this project can be anything at all for me, it's Case Study #1 on the fact that I have a process for creating content that includes operational details, considerati - Oh, and that my pen game really knows 0 bounds. The Perfectionist is Writing, Recording, Live Events, and Development put into motion for everyone to see and I can't wait for the final release.
Vivid Life Apparel Summer Collection
I've been hinting at this for some time now. Vivid Life Apparel has loaded up a pretty good inventory of new items, looks, and designs. The set date for the collection's kick-off is June 29th with pre-orders beginning as soon as early June for paid members and subscribers.
In addition to the Helix 655 sneakers, you can expect to see the reemergence of many of the items you're most familiar with from our classic collections (as TagsByMarvel). So, yes, that includes If You Think I'm Dope, Bet High On Me, and Mentally I'm Here T-Shirts.
While we await the release of the Summer Collection, Vivid Life Apparel is running a 20% off discount across the entire catalog when you use MAYEND20 (discount automatically applies at checkout).
We Missed A Meeting 5th Anniversary
Five years ago to date, I was preparing to release my first novel, We Missed A Meeting: They Chose You, Mr. Ferguson to the world. And this year, I'll be doing something special to commemorate the release of that title with a 5th-Year Anniversary Edition that will reintroduce new readers and shake up the conversations comparing what we experienced and what is detailed in the story's plot about the year 2020.
I'll also be pulling back some of the mystery about the series' meaning and the direction it will take moving forward.
We Missed A Meeting is a series that overlays comtemporary afrosurrealism with science fiction to bring us to a series of spiraling coincidences that puts Richard Ferguson at the center of attention amidst an event called The Absence - it's the day the African Diaspora discovers we're somehow alone across the globe. The story expanded in June of 2018 to include "Painting the River Black" and then a few more side stories that connect the dots on the impact of The Absence, as well as introducing the role an Artificial Intelligence named Alexander has on the entire situation.
Yeah, AI.
We Missed A Meeting: They Chose You, Mr. Ferguson 5th Anniversary Edition will release on Aug. 1st, 2023.

Internal Developments: I'm Looking To Expand.
Writing, Recording, Live Events and Developments? Yeah, MRVL WRLD definitely keeps me busy. I've always known that, and I've always understood that that was the assignment. But realistically (and honestly), between age, life, and the excitement that this work brings me, I know that doing all of this alone won't scratch the itch and doesn't tell as dope of a story.
Working on "The Perfectionist" has only been confirmation to me that it's time to start looking at the journey differently, and start considering the development of a team.
I'm excited to announce that in the coming months, I'll start rolling more of I'm building and will have openings on a number of new teams. I'm looking for hungry creatives, strategists, thinkers, doers, all who have a knack for storytelling, breaking status quo, and expanding.
The Vivid Life Tour has new dates coming, and I anticipate much more grounded experiences, including hosting our own, MRVL WRLD-sponsored events. So, we are developing a MRVL WRLD - Events Team.
Our work on paper, print, and digital is likely not going anywhere, and only expanded more to ghostwriting in 2023 with the release of I, Too, Cry Purple Tears in February. So, our MRVL WRLD - Publishing Team would ideally focus on developing content and paths to help the next awakening author on their journey.
Vivid Life Apparel can expand to a brand that not only speaks to but creates a culture of identity celebration, self-celebration, and attitude that transcends just T-shirts and direct-to-garment.
And lastly, our storytelling can change the game. So, while we're currently referring to it only as The Pen, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that our place in print and digital media is coming.
Information will begin to be shared on this, so be on the look out and visit back here often.
There simply hasn't been a better time to be this dope. And I'm glad to have your continued support.
