Collaborations often mask massive workload imbalances. A collaborator might offer their presence or basic participation, but the actual technical heavy lifting—shooting, sorting footage, audio syncing, editing, and post-production—falls entirely on the creator. It stops being a shared effort and effectively becomes unpaid client work.
